The Monday after

The whole weekend was a success. We had a great time, but I was ready to get home. The drive home was about the same as the drive down. So during our trip, I noticed Ollie was scratching A LOT, but I kept checking him for fleas and didn't see any. Sunday night, we let him sleep in the bed because we just give in to our little baby sometimes. Monday morning I noticed he was scratching more and more, so I check him again. I finally see a flea and freak out because he is on 2 different flea medicines every month. I give him a bath and yep: FLEAS EVERYWHERE!!!! I am freakin out now because he has never had fleas and I don't know what to do. I get another flea medicine from the vet that day and it's suppose to kill anything on him (yes, that would make 3 different medicines). I also start washing EVERYTHING IN OUR HOUSE. I mean I wash every blanket, our comforter, our sheets, our clothes, and all our towels. I then wipe down the entire house with Clorox wipes and vacuum everything. It was miserable!!! Oh and then I sit and pick Ollie for almost 2 hours until every last flea is gone. Did I mention this was a Monday, so of course I'm trying to deal with the craziness of Monday work also.
So, Jordan comes home from work and he had been in the woods all weekend getting ready for hunting season. He is also scratching everywhere. Turns out he was COVERED IN TICK AND CHIGGER BITES. When I say covered, I mean it looks like someone attacked him with a red marker. I then had to check my husband for ticks. And yes, I found ticks on him. Btn checking Ollie for fleas and Jordan for ticks, it was a horrible Monday. Brad Paisley didn't know what he was saying when he wrote the song: "I wanna check you for ticks". Trust me, you DO NOT WANT TO CHECK SOMEONE FOR TICKS.

Just to make sure we got every last flea, Ollie got a haircut that following Tuesday. .

The Wedding

Saturday, we headed back to Mobile for the wedding. They had the wedding reception at this really cool place in downtown Mobile. The whole little area is just so cute and brand new. Mobile re-did a section of old houses at Fort Conde and made this really cool wedding venue downtown.

The Old Front Conde Inn. All the food was inside here.

One of the old houses re-done across from the Inn

How cute! The whole street was blocked off. The band is under the tent

More of Mobile

Friday night, my cousin had the rehearsal dinner at Dauphin Island on the water at my aunt and uncles's house. They had a good old fashion shrimp boil and it was awesome. We had such a good time hanging out with family. Cindy and I took some pictures before the rehearsal off our porch.

My trip to Mobile

I was heading to Mobile because my cousin was getting married! Jordan was just too busy with work and didn't have any time off, so I decided to go without him. My sister was flying down solo as well, so we had a little sister time which was awesome.

Friday, we headed down to Dauphin Island to go to the beach. One of my most favorite things in the whole world is spending time with my sister. One of our favorite things to do is drink beer and eat boiled peanuts on the beach. I can't describe how much this time means to me.
Nothing better than the white sands of the gulf

A little heaven on earth

My Solo Trip with Ollie

A few weeks ago, I decided to make the trip to Mobile all by myself with my Ollie and his car anxiety. We finally got him a Rx from the vet for anxiety medicine to help. Well, the medicine only partially helped with the anxiety. We made it about 30 minutes outside of Nashville before he started freaking out again. Thankfully, I packed some benadryl just in case. Between the benadryl and anxiety medicine, we were able to make it to Birmingham pretty drama free. I mean, he still wont "chill" in his crate, but at least he wasn't driving me crazy with the crying and panting. He would sleep but only in my lap.
It's really fun to drive like this for 8 hours

We broke up our drive and stayed in Bham to see 2 of my best friends: Ellen and Whitney. Whitney and I had a late night drinking wine and talking. We had such an awesome time catching up (Ellen was sick, so she didn't get to join us). I love stopping and seeing these girls any chance I get.

Amazing

Keeping with my Olympic obsession. I can't even describe my excitement watching this guy.

His name is Oscur Pistorius from South Africa. He has been a double-amputee since he was 11 months old. His mother always wanted him to do everything the other kids did. After a lot of conservancy, he was finally able to compete in the Olympics. He is the FIRST DOUBLE-AMPUTEE ATHELETE TO COMPETE IN THE OLYMPIC TRACK AND FIELD GAMES.
He didn't make it to the finals, but what a story!!!! I cried every single time I watched him race, it was amazing and so inspiring.

Conversation

Ok so if you haven't figured out by now: Jordan and I are freaking LOVING the Olympics. We watch it every single chance we can. I mean we have watched some crazy stuff. This weekend we watched Woman's   Weight Lifting, Woman's Weight Lifting?!?! Um, let me tell you it was sooooo exciting. We have been chanting USA! USA! USA! for days now. Ollie doesn't know what is going on when we are jumping up and down and start screaming at the T.V.

So this is the conversation we had the other night.

Chrissy:  It's kind of crazy these "kids" are competing in front of the world and then most of them are "retiring" in their mid 20's!

Chrissy: That means at age 29, I would be a retired Olympian.

Jordan: Then I guess that would make me a coach

Chrissy: HAHAHA, I guess so.

Team USA has been awesome! So proud of these amazing athletes. USA! USA! USA!

My amazing discovery

This weekend I discovered the most amazing thing ever. I mean I can't even describe how excited I was when I found this at the store. Ok...........................are you ready for something that will change your life?!?!?!............................................................

Box Wine!!!!!! I'm serious!!! Box Wine is  NOT what it used to be. We all remember the "Franzia Wine box". You can get some awesome wines in a box now! I was about to buy a bottle of "my go to wines". It's a $10.99 bottle of red wine. The sales person at the liquor store introduced me to "THE BOX". I got a box of THE SAME RED WINE FOR $19.99 AND IT'S 4 BOTTLES WORTH.
4 BOTTLES FOR LESS THAN 2 BOTTLES OF WINE!!!!

$19.99 for 4 bottles worth of wine

I've heard this one is good

I may buy this shirt.

TEAM USA

So Jordan and I LOVE watching the Olympics. I mean there are some really intense sports I knew nothing about. Fencing was crazy exciting, still don't really understand how you score. Water Polo was pretty aggressive as well. Of course, we have been all about the swimming, volleyball, and gymnastics. I decided Ollie and I needed to play dress up for the games. All these other blogs have these adorable pictures of their children in outfits, so I decided I needed to dress up my baby. He absolutely loved liked tolerated it.

I thought he needed to have that Ralph Lauren Look like the  rest of the team

Hello Adorable!
